A very varied single trail through the woods above “Dolomiti di Brenta Bike”.
Time ago the border regions provided smugglers with routes for the transport of illegal goods, they making use of little known paths. In Val di Non, however, it was the poachers who had a significant presence. So as not to be discovered they used hidden paths in the thick woodland. However the expert eye of the forest ranger was able to spot them. When Adriano, the forest ranger of the wooded area in the foothills to the to the east of Monte Peller retired, he decided to dedicate himself to a new task: with the help of volunteers e cleaned up all of those hidden and abandoned paths which had become covered in thick vegetation; paths which had been known only to the occasional bear, to the poachers and to mushroom enthusiasts. The result? A maze of narrow paths of incredible natural beauty ... or to express it in the language of the mountain biker: a blast of single trails! Adriano’s retirement was certainly a blessing in disguise!
Route direction: clockwise. In the summer refreshment points are open at the agro-ranch Pra de Dont above Tuenno, and at the Bersaglio carpark above Cles. One thing not to miss in apple harvest time is the “historical frutteto” above Cles, an area open to the public and where many types of ‘ancient’ apple are grown.
