In Cles, next to the forest, there is a special orchard where traditional varieties of apples and pears are grown, the ones our grandparents used to tell us about when we were children! Do you know the Renetta Champagne? Have you ever tasted a Boskoop? And would you say a Bona Luigia is a type of apple or a pear? In the Ancient Orchard you can learn how to recognise them and find out much more about the cultural heritage of the Val di Non.
Autumn is definitely the best time to visit the Ancient Orchard when the appearance, colours and above all fragrances of these fruits are at their best. The Strada della Mela e dei Saproi delle Valli di Non e Sole association also organises a number of events such as guided tours to the orchard with a farmer and tastings of traditional varieties.
