Le Plaze di Dermulo on Lake Santa Giustina

Lake Santa Giustina is the large artificial lake that defines the landscape of Val di Non, emphasizing its characteristic as a wide and open valley. To fully enjoy the beauty of this lake, to experience it in an active and fun way, there is a special and privileged place: Le Plaze di Dermulo.

Once one of the only areas historically dedicated to activities near the lake, today Le Plaze is a well-maintained, lively, and pleasant place to visit. It offers everything from relaxation to sports, family-friendly fun to a young and vibrant meeting spot, and even a quiet space to cool off or enjoy an aperitif.

The view of Lake Santa Giustina from here is spectacular. The calm waters, occasionally crossed by a passing boat, reflect the mountains and sky in a truly stunning scene.

At the end of the day, the sunset from here is something you don’t want to miss—it’s like a picture-perfect postcard!

The Pine Forest at Le Plaze

A meadow that gently slopes towards the lake, towering trees providing welcome shade, and a refreshing atmosphere—it's a summer dream! The small pine forest of Le Plaze is the perfect place to sit with your back against a tree trunk and simply enjoy the lake view, read a book, have a picnic with friends, or even take a peaceful nap in the shade.

You can reach the pine forest from above by parking in the upper lot, or, if you're up for a short walk, take the scenic trail along the dam and follow the lake’s shore to the pine forest. If you choose this second option, the walk begins at the open space on the right before the parking area.

The Beach at Le Plaze

The beach area of Le Plaze is a beloved spot, especially on warm summer days, attracting both tourists and locals.

Not far from the pine forest, this sandy area has been designed as a well-equipped and relaxing place to sunbathe and dip your feet in the water.

Golden sand and straw umbrellas define this charming beach area, where you can rent a beach chair and umbrella from the nearby sports rental center. Plus, there are plenty of fun activities for all ages!

Sports at Le Plaze

Just beyond the pine forest, along the lake’s shore, you'll find the rental center where you can rent a kayak and join a guided tour of the famous Novella Canyon. The tour takes you through the most incredible inlets of the lake, between towering rock walls and breathtaking light reflections.

The guided visit even includes a boat tow service that brings you and your kayak to the canyon entrance, as it is quite far from the starting point.

The same rental center also offers canoes and stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), with a short introductory technical lesson included.

Want to try archery? At Le Plaze, you can test your aim and feel like a modern-day William Tell!

If you're into fishing, the lake’s shores are an excellent place to catch trout, carp, or perch—and occasionally even pike. Just remember to purchase a fishing permit, then find a quiet spot along the shore and enjoy your day.

Aperitifs and More at Le Plaze

Centrally located between the pine forest, the beach area, and the sports rental center, you’ll find a spacious and charming refreshment area.

This lakeside café & bar—named after the location—offers a stunning view and a lively, pleasant atmosphere.

It’s the perfect place for a sunset aperitif, but also great for lunch, dinner, or an evening drink.

Being so close to all the other areas, this refreshment spot makes Le Plaze even more complete and functional, ensuring an enjoyable experience for everyone.

How to Get to Le Plaze

To reach Le Plaze, drive to the village of Dermulo and at the intersection, follow the signs towards Sanzeno. After a few minutes, you will find the road on the left leading down to Le Plaze.

If you are coming from the upper Val di Non, just before reaching Dermulo, you will see a right-hand turn leading to Le Plaze.

The road is wide and has a pedestrian path running alongside it. In just a few minutes, you will arrive at the parking area, which is paid, open, and divided into three zones.

From the parking lot, Le Plaze is only a two-minute walk away.
