Who is Queen of the Val di Non? Obviously, it is the apple and every year I look forward to the second weekend of October to celebrate it. Where? At Pomaria!
Pomaria is the huge festival in honour of the apple which every year is held in a different village in the Val di Non. At the festival, you can have a go at harvesting apples straight from the tree, take part in workshops where you can learn how to cook strudel, canederli (traditional dumplings) and tortel (potato cakes) as well as many other typical dishes from this region. Or you can just wander around the stalls and taste a few delicacies, as well as a nice glass of wine, craft beer or apple juice and many other wonderful products. Or you can enjoy the displays of ancient crafts.
I visit Pomaria with my whole family because my children really enjoy it, with rides on the little tractors or attending shows and workshops specially created for them. Indeed, last time they built a hotel for insects that they still eagerly look after on the balcony back home! In short, Pomaria is a festival for everyone. See you there? I will be expecting you!
This year Pomaria will take place on 12 and 13 October 2024 in Livo. Here you can find all the information www.pomaria.org.
From 27 September to 13 October POMARIA ON THE ROAD await you with many events and activities to celebrate autumn.
